I don't think you're kooks. A healthy skepticism is appropriate for all scientific endeavor. Let's not forget that asbestos was once a wonder material. And DDT was the Malaria fighter's best friend, though it may yet make a comeback. Blood-letting was standard procedure. Everyone knew Nineveh didn't exist until it was found.
