We decided to start the new year with an old family tradition: face painting. Well it's not that old, really. OK, we've never done it before. But the kids took a vote and chose this over sauerkraut and black-eyed peas.

My, how the world has changed - parents sanctioning the dirtying of faces. What's next; building a slide in the bedroom?
