Chipmunk Name

Leslie asked Aaron why he wants to name the squirrel Famor.

"I dunno," he replied, "There's probably somebody in the universe named that. Probably somebody in the Old Testament."

Many of You Know My Family Lives in the Path of the Hurricane

Take a look at what Hurricane Ike is doing:

Squirrels again

We think that maybe they were siblings abandoned by a mother, and that's why they came after us.  Later, one of them enjoyed cookies, and curled up in Shannon's scarf under our blue spruce tree.

This morning, before Aaron left for school, we went out to feed them some hamster and gerbil food.  Shannon spied Chip still curled up in her scarf, but unfortunately, we couldn't see Dale.  Maybe it died?  Anyway, Chip came out and greeted us and made his cute call.  It wouldn't eat the gerbil food, but it ate more cookie.  So Christopher went and got some graham crackers.  It ate that too!  So at least this one is thriving.

It is really raining today, so we'll check on Chip later.  How fun!  A pet without the work.

Shannon's Baptism

Leslie Forgot to Blog this one

Do  you think we should worry about Chris's preoccupation with violence?

We were discussing a project that had to be done by a deadline. Chris asked, "A dead lion?"

I carefully explained that a deadline was a time by which something had to be finished. I told him that when people start a project, they agree that it must be done by a certain time.

He chimed in, "Or they kill the lion?"

Fred Thompson exposes ""Tax the Rich"

THOMPSON:  Now, our opponents tell us not to worry about their tax increases.  They tell you they're not going to tax your family.  No, they're just going to tax businesses.  So, unless you buy something from a business, like groceries, clothes, or gasoline, or unless you get a paycheck from a business, a big business or a small business, don't worry, it's not going to affect you.
