Happy Birthday Shannon!
Our favorite daughter turns 6 today. We had a small family gathering tonight. She will have a gymnastics party on Monday. Thanks to all the family members who made her smile with all their thoughtful gifts.
Shannon is a big fan of Lincoln and Jackson.
She has always wanted a Little House on the Prairie bonnet.

Heard at the Morrissey house this Christmas:
Shannon: "The people who make these things hate children!" (referring to the nearly impossible web of plastic string and twitsty ties entrapping her Littlest Pet Shop toys.)
Christmas 2008
We don't have the traditional photos of gift opening and such. But we do have a few memorable ones. First up is one of the kids eating the cookies Santa left on the mantle. They are taking very seriously Mommy's admonition not to spill any crumbs.
Here is a picture of the Aaron and Batman enjoying the movie Prince Caspian, one of their Christmas gifts. (Actually, that isn't Batman, it's Chris proving the mask was a real hit.)
And here is a picture of Doug's broken pinky toe, aquired while waging a Nerf Gun war against Aaron. Great gift, Christal! It was a lonely two hours at the hospital. The toe was originally sticking up and out at an angle, but I think I reduced it to a satisfactory position. What do y'all think?

Said around the Morrissey household: so what wine would you pair with Mac n' Cheese?
I learned a new way to save money up here in Pennsylvania. You don't need any fancy facial exfoliation treatments, just go jogging in sleet.

We really enjoyed the recent visit from Leslie's parents, Jerry and Lois. Here they are next to the tree they helped us decorate. The Jigsaw Puzzle is an annual event at Christmas time. They finished this 1000 piece puzzle in 9 hours. (By the clock, not cumulative.)
We also had a visit from Darth Jerryus.
